Leggett Immobilier Independent Agent, says :
A great opportunity to purchase an old farmhouse for renovation. This property has huge potential to make a family home with outbuildings and plenty of outdoor space.
A real chance to create a good sized family home in the lovely Breton countryside.
This house comprises: On the groundfloor - Entrance hall with doors leading off to the good sized kitchen/dining area, the large lounge and the toilet. A wooden staircase leads up to the 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom. As you will see from the photos, there is quite a bit of work to do here, but the basics are there and it would just need some imagination to turn this house around. Attached to one side of the house is the old stable - great for storage! And on the other side is a small old house which has an original connecting doorway into the main property and a large feature fireplace, giving perhaps the opportunity to extend the living area further. This part is completely untouched and has a small amount of remedial work needed to the stonework.
The house sits in the middle of the land which is just over half an acre and has a large hangar and old tin store off to one side giving a good degree of privacy.
The local villages, with shops, banks and schools, are just a few minutes drive away and the transport links of Roscoff ferryport and Brest airport are within easy reach.
The excellent TGV service can be reached at either Morlaix or Guinamp.
The name of the departments translates as "by the sea" in Breton, and the department's principal town is Saint Brieuc, founded by the Welsh monk Brieuc in 482 AD, with its imposing cathedral. Other towns of interest include Dinan, one of Brittany's finest medieval towns and a major tourist attraction and Guingamp, another town of historic and architectural as well as religious interest. There are many beach resorts and fishing ports. The department boasts six "petites cites de caractère" including Jugon les Lacs, an ancient fortress town surrounded by rivers and lakes.
The department is the least populated department in Brittany and so there is a real feeling of space - if you want to escape the rat race and enjoy the peace and quiet of rural France, the Côtes d'Armor is ideal. There is a great diversity of rural pursuits, lovely beaches with many leisure activities, along with stunning coastlines and dramatic inland landscapes. The coastline is dotted with lighthouses and is characterized by rocky coves and tidal inlets, and inland paths lead to ruined castles, fantastic forests and farm properties built in pink, grey and black stone.
Scattered with beautiful manor houses and chateaux, the department offers some fascinating architecture, with many attractive granite-faced properties. The property for sale is this part of France still represent very good value compared to other regions of the country.
