It requires very little heating which is just as well because it doesn’t have any central heating system. Nor does it have a heat pump or any solar panels. Instead, it has a Thermal mass wood burning stove, as shown in the 4th photo, which can be lit for 2 hours and store enough energy to heat the chalet for the next 24 hours.
With an official energy performance rating of C, which would be B, but for the vagaries of being over 800m altitude, you could be forgiven for thinking this house was averagely efficient. I’ve just realised that I haven’t actually given any other details about the property so have a look at the photos and the details below. It’s a great south facing chalet which fabulous views located on a quiet cul-de-sac, complete with jacuzzi and 2 garages.
An additional benefit is that the toilets, washing machines, jacuzzi and outside watering are all fed from a natural spring filling a 3000 litre tank with a pump so that the major water consumption is completely natural and also free, further reducing the running costs
