About my area

South Burgundy is a beautiful place to own a property whether as a primary residence or a second home. The quality of life here is exceptional, long hot summers and mild winters, access to nature, sports, culture, prehistoric sites and spectacular views wherever you are. We are within easy reach of all major routes, A6 motorway, 2 TGV stations to Paris in the north or Lyon and Marseilles in the south, plus an airport in Lyon. Burgundians are renowned for being welcoming and that has certainly been my experience. Gastronomic delights, many Michelin starred restaurants within easy reach and, of course, wine from the Mâconnais region, most famously Pouilly Fuissé and St Veran. There are so many events: degustation of wine and local specialities, open villages, art exhibitions, and musical festivals there is always something to do and that’s not even mentioning sport: cycling, walking, horse riding, rock climbing, water sports, so many opportunities for everyone to practise what they enjoy. The area offers a variety of types of residencies be it a barn conversion, a town apartment, a country home, a winemaker’s house or a chateau. In the Mâconnais, you will find numerous wine villages surrounded by vineyards, in the Clunisois huge pastures and valleys with grazing cattle and horses and across the Sâone River to the big open spaces and distinctive architecture of Bresse.

About me

I have always been a Francophile and have wanted to live in France for years, I was introduced to this area by friends who bought a dilapidated property here many years ago and overtime have turned it into a magnificent residence with views over the vineyards. I started to get interested in the wine of the area and it never ceases to amaze me how much time the winemakers spend caring for their vines, every day of the year, and in all weathers. Wine tourism is very important here and an enjoyable pastime. After discussing and planning for years to move to France the opportunity arose for us to make the move. I’ve always been interested in architecture and property and this area offers so much diversity. In the UK I have bought and sold many properties so it was natural for me to use my skills in this area and join Leggett as an Agent Immobilier. For my husband, being able to work from home via the internet was definitely a deciding factor as he can stay in close contact with the UK without having to leave his office here in France. South Burgundy is simply a stunning and gorgeous place to live, I look forward to helping you find your dream property.
